Green can be a symbol of new beginnings and fresh starts and it’s a perfect color to incorporate into a wedding or other special event design. We are thrilled to share that Pantone just announced their Color of the Year 2017 – Greenery (15-0343). Greenery is a fabulous compliment to many trends that are springing up this year like farm-to-table menus, organic rustic centerpieces, and floral arrangements composed of fragrant herbs.
Whether you’re planning a wedding, birthday party, shower, or corporate event, here are some ways to include Pantone’s color into your design.
Attire and Accessories
Set the tone of your event with bold green bridesmaid dresses, or incorporate the color into more subtle details like shoes, ties, sashes, fun socks or a clutch.
Floral
Floral is the most obvious way to showcase 2017’s color, whether through table arrangements, bouquets, backdrops, or arches. Add a unique touch by bringing in fresh herbs to your décor like sage, rosemary, eucalyptus, or microgreens.
Up-Lighting
A great way to add drama and change a room’s tone is through lighting. Green can be a powerful color and up-lighting can create a more contemporary feel to an event.
Other Details
Green is “nature’s neutral” and inexpensive props in this color are easy to find, such as heads of lettuce, stemmed Brussels sprouts, and un-trimmed carrots. You can also create a bold statement at the table using colored chargers or linens, or by giving a gift of colored favors like macarons.
Pantone is definitely making a statement this year with their color selection. When planning your event, let us help you make yours.
