Shelly & Charles
How did you and Charles meet?
Chip and I met while working at a local Emergency Department. He is a paramedic and I am a nurse. Over the course of a few months, we began spending time together outside of the work setting which led to us exclusively dating. After months of getting to know one another, we progressed to our incredible relationship. And the rest is history!
How did Charles propose?
We were actually down in Key West for one of Chip’s childhood friend’s wedding. On the last day Chip wanted to do something outdoors to soak up the Florida sun so we went to the beautiful Butterfly Conservatory. It was gorgeous with all the butterflies flying around. It was absolutely perfect! And I had no idea it was coming. We were standing by this bridge and he wanted to take some pictures of me looking at the water below, when I turned around he was on his knee with a one of a kind vintage engagement ring. The moment was unforgettable.
You gave a cool gift to Chip on your wedding day. Would you tell us the story behind it?
Chip is a huge fan of nice watches. I was blessed to have found a gorgeous vintage TAG watch at a local jeweler that I thought he would love and appreciate! He was blown away with it at the rehearsal dinner and wore it proudly that night and every day since.
Tell us the story about your wedding dress?
I think every bride has an idea of what their wedding dress is going to look like on their big day, myself included. I had one specific must on my list it needed to have a drop waist. I found a few gorgeous dresses I liked but when I put this dress on I knew it was the one. The feeling when I stood there in it was overwhelming! Not only was it perfect but not one alteration was needed! It was meant to be just like the incredible man I was marrying!
What was your most memorable moment on your wedding day?
My most memorable moment of our wedding day was our first look. It was at Old School Square in downtown Delray Beach and it turned out incredible. It was everything I had hoped it would be! The timing was perfect for Chip to turn around and see me standing there feeling glamorous in my wedding gown. I’ll never forget the look on his face or the way I felt during that magical moment. I felt like the luckiest girl alive, he chose me!
What advice would you give other couples planning their wedding?
Take a few moments together to take it all in. Chip and I had a few minutes with each other after our ceremony upstairs in the bridal suite. It was a nice quiet moment to reflect upon our ceremony and to get excited about the reception. One more piece of advice would be to hire great vendors for your big day. We were blessed to have superb vendors for our wedding/reception. We can’t say enough about all them especially the Addison. The day was perfect and there isn’t a single thing we would change!
